Ario introduction

While i liked the idea that Ario would be barely alive when you found him, saving someone just seems to me to detract from the "bad-assity" of Lycia if he saved someone. so this is what i have:

Lycia looked at the rustic town blowing over in dust and decay with spite. Everything up to this point was a vibrant green, but now, setting eyes upon this inhabited wasteland just seemed to bring back memories of the service that seemed to be like knives jabbing into him and a wave of emotion stirred up anger, sadness, confusion, among another host of emotions.
"What are we even here for. I told you we can navigate that forest alone" scowled Lycia.
"Sure if you wanna wind up navigating it for the rest of your life." retored Rico. "C'mon we need a guide and a friend told me this was the best place to find em."
"Whatever... and just how many friends do you have?" Lycia returned.
The two walked about the town asking person after person where to find guide after guide, but none were available.(Plan in the game here to hire several guides, but until you talk to the right person, they scam you and run away in the forest with your money)
"God DAMN it!" shouted Lycia "Some friend of yours that guy is."
"hey hey hey just think positive man im sure our luckll turn around" Smiled Rico.
"It better or ill turn your spine around..." Mumbled Lycia.
Suddenly sitting in the streets was a boy who had apparently been watching them the whole time, said;
"Im sorry, are you guys looking for a way to the forest?" said the boy rather quietly
"Yea but at this point i probably wont pay you until were through" said a furious Lycia.
"Thats fine but would it be too much trouble if i could get paid 300(money system increments)?"
(Rico, Lycia, aside)
"But thats 1/3 the price we paid for the others.." Pondered Rico
"DONT FRIGGIN QUESTION IT JUST GO!!!" whispered Lycia loudly.
"You gotta deal friend. 150 now, 150 after?" said Rico, Lycia staring at him intensely with a WTF are you doin look.
"whatever youre more comfortable with." replied the boy, who started walking to the edge of town. "Cmon, if you wanna get through by dark we gotta go now."
Lycia and Rico stared at each other for a moment, then proceeded to follow the boy

(I have more but i gotta go to dinner, the restll be up when i get back)

I like it so far and Rico and Lycia's personalities are exactly on the money. That's exactly how they would act.

Ok part 2

As they approached the forest, Rico following the boy dilligently, and Lycia lagging behind with a scowl on his face. Light was fading fast, faster then any of them expected.
"looks like itll have to come to camping in the forest, you guys have proper materials for that right? Ill also have to charge you 100(currency) more for overnight" Asked the boy. Lycias scowl deepened.
"Sure do." Replied Rico, smile on his face. "Weve actually...had to do that a lot lately" he said with a slight blush on his face.
"No problem. That makes three of us hahaha" As the boy shifted his gaze to Lycia his laughter was killed by the cold stare and barrier that Lycia had up. "well... we should get as far as we can anyways... people may get lost in the forest, but sadly that has lead to rumors of monsters that dont exist." the Boy said with a sigh. Then his face grew rather serious; "people are stupid."
Lycia softened his gaze a little enough to ask "Hey kid. Whats your name."
The boy growing more indignant replied "That. is none of your concern. Unless you let me ask you a few questions later."
Lycia's moment of socialism faded instantly.
Rico, sensing the tension growing, suggested "H-Hey, why dont we get started then? Itll be getting Dark soon right?"
The boy turned quickly and began walking into the heart of the forest.

When the light was gone The boy sat down on a log and said "Ill camp here and you two can go into that feild. The feild has less-"
"Uh uh no way in hell are we leaving you alone to run off with our money. Thats happened to us way too many times." Interjected Lycia, which took Rico aback (0.0 face)
"Fine." said the Boy "Take your 150. Ill collect it all tomorow. I just sleep alone and thats how it is." he retorted, hiding a smile as he did so. And he stormed off into the night. (Brandon i give you the option to put in Flynn here for the first battle, since you said that you wanted the team to meet him multiple times, and also my forest part also fits well with your forest part.) The next morning Lycia was woken up by a swipe to the head. Shaken up, he leaped out of his bed and drew his sword and pointed it directly at what he assumed to be the culpirt. The loud clang he made shook him out of drowsiness and he saw what he had hit.
"Dude. what are you doing?" said the Boy struggling to hold up the weight bearing down on him and his blade.
Lycia jumped back and put his sword away with a sneer. "Dont touch me again."
"Have you ever heard of the experiment of Exertius." stated the Boy.
"What...? ....Nothing prompted that."
"Have you ever heard of the experiment of Exertius. Answer the question."
"No...?"
"Ario"
"What"
"Ario is my name" Ario stated as he started to walk away. "Lets go. Ricos waiting for us at a checkpoint i set up. Youre late (Its 11 what did you two do last night)"

As they exited the forest Ario held out his hand, expecting money, but instead it was answered with a loud rumble. Growing louder and louder a large skeletal Lion charged from the forest and tackled Ario into a nearby tree. (BOSSSSS BATTTLLLLEEEE!!!) The lion lay limp on the ground, Lycia's sword buried in its head. Rico was already over by Ario trying to wake him up. As Lycia ran over he could hear the words "Heh, I guess there were monsters in the forest, thats two then..." Coming from Ario, followed by Rico shouting "CRAP WHERES THE OTHER ONE!!!!?????" and dropping Ario in the process
"We need to get him to a hospital."
"Right." replied Lycia

(You have 5 mins to get Ario to the next town, or game over)

"He's stable now he'll be fine"(Rico)
"I still dont see why he didnt just block like he did with my sword this morning. He couldve easily"(lycia)
"It was a big.. animal...zombie...lion...thing?"
"Still."
"visiting hours are open if you wanna see him"
"Sure"

"Hey... how you doin?" (Rico)
"mm"(Lycia)
"Haha been better... definitely been better."(Ario)
"Glad youre still alive kid haha"
"Yea until you try to kill yourself again."
"...What."
"You couldve stopped that lion today."
"Obviously not."
"my swing this morning was about 3x as much force as that charge. and was faster"
"Well i didnt think of it."
"Im sure you did, i guess you just chose not to."
"Youre spitting idiocy. It doesnt matter anyways. Its done with"
"Not for you. Im sure youll try again, and again and again a--"
"I SAID IT WAS DONE WITH.... It doesnt matter."
"...."
"...."
"Ill find out eventually"
"Im sure you will."
"I will cuz im not paying you. Youre sticking with us until I can find out why you did what you did."
"i didnt do anything. And what if i dont wanna follow you"
"Then ill chain you to my ankle and drag you around until you give up."
"Fine."
(Ario Joined Party!!!)

That part was awesome! And you can feel the love

That actually does fit in well, however instead of that being your first ecounter with Flyn, when ario says "that makes 2 today" He could be refering to while hes laying faceing up towards the sky, seeing flyn flying above them. This would make sense as they never actually find the second one hes refering to. Not to mention Flyn is meant to be taken on with a decent sized party, to have 2 or 3 early on characters try and take him on would be near suicide for the battle i intended. However, a cutscene where he trys to attack them and just kinda shrugs off their defence and keeps going could be what puts lycia into a defencive mood in the morning. Just thinking out loud here. Also, i dont like how lycia immediatly trusts this kid to lead them through the forest, there should be a little more questioning to it, where ario proves how well he knows the forest. Perhaps the knowledge of which routes the people who robbed them usually took and why they took them? I don't know. It's not a major flaw as lycia does keep up the coldness throughout the trip regardless, i jsut dont feel hes that trusting, but then again he had rico pushing him on.

That's true i see both of your points this is something we could discuss at the next meeting

would be a bit hard to discuss at the meeting though, i could bring my webcam and we could have a live discussion with him through one of the laptops, but since he wont be there in person it may be a bit hard.

The whole point of Lycia's scowling and overall bad attitude was BECAUSE he didnt trust ario, and when i wrote the first part i was strapped for time because i had to be somewhere that was mandatory and forgot to add stuff that i still have in my head. and fyi brandon, when ario says "that makes two" hes refering to himself because he considers himself a monster, i dont think it would make sense for Ario to automatically know what was flying above him, unless it was close and i think a giant fuckin dragon would make you yell SHIT no matter what mental condition youre in, instead of making a snide remark. That being said ill do a rewrite when we talk a little more

alright, now that you have pointed out what you meant with the "that makes two" comment it makes much more sense. Anywho, id like to point out, Flyntian has wings in his human form, he doesnt just casually fly around as a dragon lol, so as your char ario refers to himself as a monster for having a magic arm, flytian is considered a monster for his wings. Just one is easier to hide than the other, not to mention my character is full of vengence and has no wish to hide it. But yes, it does sound like a good introduction, i just try to take the standpoint of a critic, please dont take anything i say as bashfull, im just trying to think of all possible angles.
